Mingolla: A family story

Our company has been active in the boat manufacturing sector for 45 years.
Founded by Roberto Mingolla as a family business, today still benefits from the involvement of all his family members.
The family-like environment combined with the continuous search for new high-quality materials made the Mingolla boatyard a top boat manufacturer in the Italian marine landscape.
The whole production process takes place in the boatyard in Mesagne (BR). Our models are created by expert artisans and the result is always an exclusive, reliable piece, curated in every detail.

The boatyard: history and culture

The history of the foundation of Cantiere Nautico Mingolla is built upon years of hard work of its founder. Roberto, in his young age, migrates to Germany where he works for a boatyard producing competition kayaks. In a short time frame, he learns the techniques and the craftmanship behind a boat construction and he decides to go back to Italy. In 1973, he starts working for different naval manufacturers in Genoa where he is able to refine his own technique. Once achieved outstanding professional skills, he decides, in 1976, to return to his home town where, in the Grutti neighborhoods, he opens his own artisanal laboratory where he shapes and forges trimarans. In Italy, it is the time of the Industrial explosion, therefore, such versatile boats models are highly requested. Roberto feels that this is the moment to expand his range and propose new models to the public. He buys a land and with his strong and impeccable work ethic he builds his own warehouse. Here, he starts with the manufacturing of his first cabin cruisers. His little company is a big success and soon he sees his own sons and daughter entering the picture. Antonio, Massimo and Mirella add strength and value to the Mingolla brand. As the range of produced boats keeps expanding, and more and more international clients start requesting the Mingolla boats, the initial warehouse feels tight, so a new warehouse is built in the Industrial zone in Mesagne. The family members put all their time and effort into the growth of the Mesagnese company, and after five years they need to expand their warehouse again by 1000 sqm. They reach a total surface of 3500 sqm.
